2019 Range Rover Sport P400e Enhances Performance with Electric Power

The Range Rover Sport offers impressive performance both on and off the road. For 2019, the mid-size luxury SUV will get another powertrain to further enhance performance. The 2019 Range Rover Sport P400e will offer an advanced PHEV powertrain that blends performance and efficiency.

First, let's clear up the term "PHEV." Not all hybrid or electric powertrain systems are the same, after all. A PHEV vehicle employs both a traditional internal combustion engine and an electric motor and battery. The user plugs in the battery to charge while not in use. The battery can also contribute to charging via regenerative braking. The gasoline engine and electric motor then work together to balance efficiency and power.

The 2019 Range Rover Sport P400e uses PHEV technology to great effect. Its turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine produces a healthy 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor bolsters the SUV with an extra 102 horsepower, resulting in a combined output of 398 horsepower. The result? A zero to 60 mph time of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 137 mph. Plus, the Range Rover Sport P400e retains the same off-road prowess found in gas-only models.

The Range Rover Sport P400e arrives at dealerships later this year. Before it arrives, feel free to chat with members of our staff about options, features, and pricing. We're also happy to show you other Range Rover Sport models available.
