2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Gets Updates, Upgrades for New Model Year

The Land Rover Discovery Sport was added to the brand's lineup a few years ago as a smaller, more agile alternative to the popular Land Rover Discovery model. Now, after a period of popularity and acclaim, Land Rover has decided to push the envelope even further with a ream of updates for its versatile, compact SUV.

This spring, the auto maker has rolled out several key updates for the Land Rover Discovery Sport that are slated to arrive for the 2020 model year.

From the outside, things remain much the same. The Land Rover Discovery Sport retains its familiar modern styling elements. Look under the surface, though, and you'll discover a trove of new features that make the Land Rover Discovery Sport better than ever.

To start with, the 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport adds a new mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrain to its lineup. This powerplant uses both an Ingenium gas engine and a 48-volt electric system to produce a total of 286 horsepower.

Inside the cabin, Land Rover has pivoted toward eco-conscious drivers with the addition of available Luxtex non-leather upholstery. The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport also gets a redesigned rear-seat folding system that allows for up to 24 distinct configurations.

Some of the most substantial updates come in the form of technology, however.

The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport is easier than ever to drive with addition of optional ClearSight GroundView and ClearSight Rear View. Terrain Response 2 is now standard as well. In terms of media technology, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport now offers standard InControl Touch Pro. This system comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, and wireless device charging.

The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport will be available later this year. If you would like to learn more about the new model, or if you would like to test drive current 2019 models, stop by Land Rover Troy.
